Hi! I'm Ursula

I help bright kids who struggle with reading and spelling become confident, capable readers through individualized structured literacy intervention. I'm a licensed speech-language pathologist and structured literacy interventionist — and this is the heart of my practice.

Trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach through IMSE's IDA-accredited OG+ certification, I deliver explicit, structured instruction grounded in the science of reading, using evidence-based methods proven to help students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties build accurate, fluent literacy.

My work starts with a comprehensive evaluation so families understand exactly why reading has been hard and what will actually help. From there, I design one-to-one intervention targeting the specific breakdowns: decoding, phonological awareness, spelling, and fluency. Throughout our work together I monitor progress closely so growth is something you can see.

Alongside reading, I support the executive functioning skills that learning depends on such as attention, working memory, planning, and self-regulation, so students can manage the demands of school, not just decode the words on the page.

My foundation as a speech-language pathologist rounds out this work, bringing a deep understanding of the language systems beneath both spoken and written communication.

I founded Early Connections Speech Therapy, PC, and serve families in West Los Angeles and throughout California via telehealth.
